A significant amount of the energy created by the excess heat that brake pads generate under operation can be returned to an automotive drive train and transformed to power. Commonly, this has either been accomplished by fly wheels or electrical generators linked to the drive shaft. Alpcon has designed and patented a system which is significantly simpler than other existing systems. The retrofitting of existing vehicles requires only minor modifications.
